OK, took me 2 splits but I did get my new ringgear installed but have a clutch adjustment problem(dominio effect ?).I had to tighten the 'finger' bolts all the way in(could only go about 1/8") to get the tranny to not grind when the clutch was out(pedal all the way in). Runs nice, lots of pep.

This is an aftermarket clutch pack installed 8 years ago and over the years I did notice the 'grind into gear' effect getting worse but I don't use it much.

There's lots of disc left...

so...

I'm wondering just what is going on.To me the 'fingers' can't travel far enough.

New throw out bearing, tons of 'free play'

Any ideas,help, reading of tea leaves is appreciated. I don't run a farm,just play on my acre and help neighbours out.

Pilot bearing could be to tight and turning tranny a little.Make sure the long side of hub faces pressure plate. Most likely aftermarket clutch is wrong. When your clutch and pressure plate were installed, how did the release fingers look? What was thier height? Has the flywheel be turned much? Rick Corder can fix the clutch and pressure plate. The aftermarket ones and some factory ones now are not correct.When installed they will almost have the fingers touching throw out bearing from get go.The original clutch disc were thinner than aftermarket.Which allowed the release fingers to have more release travel. When I got my D14, the clutch release rod was lenghtened. When I put a new clutch in it, I had a plate and used it. Like was said, thicker then the new ones. I couldn't adjust the fingers to spec. I brought then out as far as they would go and left them that way. About 1/8" short of spec. I then bought a new clutch rod and I could use it because it was too short. I never did figure why the rod had to be extended, but it works fine the way it is and I don't intend to do anything to it now. Bob
