needed a notched disk blade today. Stopped at a NH dealer on my way to buy feed and they didn't stock. Got my feed and called Ag-West Supply, A Case dealer down in Harrisburg to see if they had them...they did. It was 4:30 and they closed at 5. I told him where I was and he said he didn't think I could make, . I said I was gonna try. He said to call when I was close and they would wait.

Got down there and went the wrong way offf of the highway, called them at 2 minutes til...they gave me directions and I got their 5 after 5 on a Friday, with the warmest temps of the year forecast, and they were there waiting for me. Blade was on the counter.

I can tell you the John Deere dealer would not have done that. In fact, I drove right by aone of their big ag stores and did not even stop.

My local JD dealer, Longs Peak, will go way out of their way to help guys, even people like me who don't run many green machines.  They are good about getting Hesston parts when I need them.  JD wanted to close them down a few years ago but had a change of heart when some of their bigger customers told the upper management they were thinking of going Red or Blue if the local store was shut.  They must have listened to them.
singingpig, I guess it must have dried out a bit if you need a disk blade.  Hope the rest of the growing season is good for you.

Fisher Implement (JD) out here is a joke, useless.

We had 2  65 degrees last weekend and I opened a couple of acres with the disk and a springtooth so it would dry out if we got more sun. Rained all week, but 65 today with a stiff North wind. Tomorrow forecast 70s, 80 sun and Mon. Yes, I will be disking this weekend!

Transplanted basil and onions in my greenhouse today. Tomorrow: tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, peas, kale, spinach, more onions, , thyme, parsley, sage,. Hopefully Sunday I can disk again.

We must be blessed but if I need something and can't be there by closing, our AGCO, CNH and JD dealers will leave parts outside with my name on them. I usually won't have the only bag or box there. I don't think anyone has ever stole anything or they all wouldn't still be doing it. All three have excellent parts people, can't say parts men anymore. LOL Some of the best are Dawn at KSR JD at Streator, she's been working parts there for several years and also Sandy at Flanagan Imp AGCO in Flanagan IL. she's been there even longer.
