My 1948 model C has about one quarter turn play in the steering wheel before draw link starts moving. I checked I&T manual and it shows 2 adjustments for the Ross steering. One requires removal of shims on steering shaft. The other is adjustment of the side bolt that puts pressure on the cross shaft. I'm not sure which of these will decrease the wheel play, or if both adjustments are required, which should be done first? Any help appreciated!

probably neither will adjust it. There is a pin that travels in a worm. This pin wears and usually needs to be replaced. I think that there are people on here who sell the pin. Bob

Steering box gear and pin, ball joints, bolster gear, nut on steering arm. Lots of places to wear. Need to check all of them.

bob has the plan.. take the arm off the gear box, take the 4 bolts off the cover and pull hte cover off. You will see the "pin" on the cam arm the fits into the worm.

Like them all, but love the "B"s.
