this spring i plan on replacing the clutch on my d 15 gas.is this a big job and are parts expensive as i thought i should start buying them now.does the tractor have to be split to do this ( i'm not a mechanic) and what else should i look at while doing this (somemtimes pops out of third) can i do this my self im not a mechanic but can do minor repairs.  thanks  smitty

Yes,ou need to split it. Be very careful if you dont have the proper equipment to split it the job can turn into a nite mare. Find a freind who knows what to do and get them to help you. otherwise send it out. Parts are not that expensive. we did mine a year ago. Third gear problem is transmision. totally different work area.
