Great picture. Pretty much the long and the short, or the big and the little of it. They didn't spend much on headlights back in the day. You can just about hear the roar of the pipes of the big 440.

Yes,the building in the back was the dealership at Paton, Iowa.I realize that it's been almost 40 years ago,but it sure is amazing the size and growth of the AG industry in that time. I guess it's no different than the growth from 1893 to 1933 or from 1933 to 1973.Actually,it probably isn't as of a jump compared to the horse drawn era.It will be interesting to see what another 40 years leads to.

not near as interesting as it would have been with the allis engineers on the job.  they were the most inovative of all.  just can't help wonder what might have been.
