We picked up a new motor for our 1942 Allis WC yesterday. It is out of a 1950 WD. Picked up a set of rear Wheels and tires 10"X28" and front 16" wheels and tires. The wheels on ou 42 have rotted out and need to be changed out. They were originally steel and converted to rubber back in the late 40s or early 50s. We bought a new (to us) set of steel wheels last year and are still looking for front steel. The motor in it stopped running one morning when the original owner was warming it up on a winter morning to plow his drive, and it stopped. Spun a couple of bearings on the crank. We got it from my brother and have had it for over 15yrs. Saw a motor on Ebay and bought it. Talked to the seller and he was very forthcomming about the motor running and as to it's condition. While I was htere to pick it up we picked up the wheels and tires as well. Haven't been able to post pics yet but will try again. We will have it installed and hopefully running in the late sring. We have to get the motor in our son'e WC back together and running before we can get on to the other one.

Saw your pics on the other site, looks like you brought home a truck load. Do you have the centers for the 28" rears?

We have the old flat spoke wheels with the rotted rims. Those are the ones we are going to have welded to the new rims.

One other thing. We are planning on having the old motor rebuilt (or rebuild it ourselves) and reinstalling it in the tractor. I would like to keep it as original as possible. That will have to be down the road though.

I have some old flat spokes that were cut down to 24" so as long as yours weren't cut that far it should work. Your other option would be to get a couple cast centers like on your 47 WC, I would think they are cheaper than having new rims welded on and you don't have to break the tires off the rims to do it. Keep us posted on your progress.
