The turbo on my Farmall 1206 is shot (old Solar turbo).  I need to install a new one, but can't find one that will readily interchange.  Spenser Diesel offers a conversion kit that includes a new turbo for something like $1500.  Thought about going that direction, but that seems high.  Mechanic in town says he can get a Borg Warner for around $800.

Any tips or ideas?
Also any good places to buy T/A assemblies?
Thanks
Adam

The original change over kit had a 3LD-229 Schwitzer and all of lines and hoses.  You might be able to find some of this stuff in salvage yards(1256 and 1456 should be the same).  On the t/a, we have had good luck with Ag Parts though both Hy Capacity and Allied Precision are both good.

1206 had large foot(T4), 1256/1456 had smaller(T3) flanged exhaust manifold.

I show that I can get one, not sure though. Said it fits 1206,1256,1456, and 915 combine. Thats the 361 and 407 engines. My part number says it replaces 702277c91 and 702929c91 but International said part number is 900173c91. So not real sure. Mine is $864.00 /$125.00 core+shipping. Also crosses over to a turbo used on Ford TW-20,TW-30,9000,9200,9600,and 9700 they also used Solar turbos for a while.
