The engine shop just called me with some more bad news the oil pump was already welded once before and its cracking again, they said i would be better off putting in a new one, my question is where can you get one. is it the same as a gas D19? also they said they need some bolt that goes in the cylinder head to hold the rockers on that is hollow for lubrication, is there such a bolt in this engine ? I cant remember, thanks |

You're probably just going to have to get a used one. From what I was told when I overhauled my 262, the oil pumps were quite robust. I only replaced mine because the "ears" that the bolts go through were broken off and welded back on. There is also a later design that has a relief valve in the outlet. Aside from that, they should be the same. I should know this for sure, but I don't remember there being a special bolt for the rocker shaft. Are they similar to D-17D pumps? i have one if it would help. Have 230 buda/WD45D pumps also, brazing on tabs though.
I have the "Stud" that carries oil thru for the 230 buda 6 cyl engine, NOS. Probaly noot the same, I can post part number if you want to check numbers.

The bolt for the rockers is actually a stud with a grove cut the whole length as an oil path. There is usually two of them and they serve as the valve cover hold down points. As for the oil pump the 230/WD45D is different. The gas and later D17's with the relief would be the same.

I am on my iPad at the moment away from all my other resources and AGCO parts books online doesn't work with iPad. I can look tomorrow for you unless somebody beats me to it.

| The D-17 pump I have is later D17 w/ relief, looks like you have plenty of availability there. If those studs w/ groove are same part number, I should have 1 possibly 2 if that helps. |

I stand corrected the studs are only grooved part of the length. Correct part#74508061

A groove can be put into rocker arm studs without the groove with a cutoff tool. Just get the right diameter/length and tread and cut them in.

| I have one NOS #74508061 stud, probably find another used one. Advise sounds good on the "groove" milled on site to regular standard stud, assuming length is the same? Will need to clean-up threads if done with a cut-off tool. |

| when you get a pump - remember - and this is important - on at least some of these units if not all the 'ears' do NOT touch the block - Better check I think they torque to something like 20 foot lbs. I have seen many pumps with brazed 'ears' before finding this out. . |

This is that bolt on a WD45 Diesel using the starter to spin it over to get some oil pumped through lines. |
