The clutch wont disengage on this tractor.  Correctly ground flywheel and new disk and pressure plate.  When I adjust the pedal for free play and push the pedal down it only goes down about halfway.  The tractor will stop fine but you have to grind to get it in gear.  I took the clutch and flywheel out today and used a press to push to fingers down.  I pushed them down until the fingers hit on the pressure plate and i can move the disk around but that is about it.  How much clearence is needed on the disk between the fly wheel and pressure plate for things to work corectly?  This is the second new disk and pressure plate from High Capacity.  What do I need to do next?

What flywheel dimension are you at??? Correct dimension has the backside(front side) of the fingers parallel to the flywheel surface. Sounds to me like your fingers are beyond parallel or too far down to start with. Use some thin flat washers and shim the pressure plate back away from the flywheel .040" to .060".....you'll have to grind a flat spot on the shim to get it to fit against the outer edge. A clutch disc with thicker than normal pads will give you the scenario you are describing.....not a big deal....just shim to get the fingers where they belong.

Thanks DrAllis.  Thats what I was thinking.  Looking at it the fingers they look pretty well parallel or just a little down.  Shimming it will that take much of the hold presure off of the disk?

Not really......either your flywheel depth is a little too shallow, OR the new disc pads are a little too thick, OR the reman pressure plate friction plate is a little too thick, OR a combination of all of these. You'd be surprised what .040" or .060" will do to the finger height when you're that close to being dead-on to level on the finger height.

Ok I will try that.

Thank you for the info DrAllis
