My series IV D17 needs an engine overhaul and I'd like to add horsepower.  Could I just put in 175 pistions and get a 10 hp boost?  Or is there more to it?  What would be other reasonable ways to add horsepower in an overhaul?

the 175 pistons do have a higher compression ratio which will help, also the 175 had a different camshaft and governor weights and spring which made more horsepower.

Higher compression, and a different camshaft AND a different larger carburator......governor control raises rpm rated to 1800 instead of 1650.
