My 175D started dripping oil from the top of the steering column (under the steering wheel).  I assume a seal is bad somewhere, anyone else have this problem? If I have to remove the hydro motor to fix, I guess I might as well swap in the whole unit from the parts tractor....or is the seal up by the steering wheel?

Eldon, I don't have a leak, but I looked at the AGCO parts book and it does not show a seal up high by the steering wheel.  The seals are all in the power steering valve.  Here is the link to the pages.

Hope this will help you.   Dale

Swap out the steering motor from the parts tractor,  those can be more trouble than they are worth to try and fix a leak  Eldon.

Who's to say the one in the parts tractor is any better?

I had the same problem with my 175D. I removed the steering valve form the tractor
and replaced the o-rings and dust seal on the shaft end and the problem was solved.
My local Agco dealer had the seal kit in stock.
