I'm looking to add some weight to the front of my CA (WF).  What options are available?  Wheel weights, side weights, weights on the wf, etc?

Thanks,
Greg

Front wheel or side weights would be best if you can find them. You can also fab up a basket that will bolt onto the front implement bosses to hold weight.

Which is better, wheel or side weights?  (Just in case I have the choice).

Hi Greg!
I have added weight to my Ca  with side weights, front wheel weights and a fabricated bracket to hang suitcase weights sparingly so not to break the casted bosses!!!!
Side weights are about 90 lbs each side
front wheel weights are about 50 lbs each side
front suitcase weights are 42 lbs each or I have had 2 of the 65 lb weights
The rear weights are 135 lbs each
I can also add suitcase weights to the bracket on the underbelly.

DeWayne, thanks for the pictures.  What do you have, about 900 lbs of extra weight there?

I was thinking if I had to have something fabricated I would try to connect into the bolt holes for the wide front adjustments.  I realize that I would have to watch the clearance with the tires when turning.  However, I was hoping to get something "factory", as I don't have the capability to do any fabricating for myself...which makes trial/error much more expensive.

One other question.  What would be a fair price for the various type weights?   ...just so I'm prepared for what lies ahead.

You can also add fluid to your front tires as that was an option back in the day. I like the doughnut weights on the front wheels myself. The last I have seen of the engine side weights, prices are up to or over $200 for a set.

The allis weights are expensive, but nice. I bought a set of front and rear for 550 I believe for my CA. That included all hardware. I'd find some side weights if you're willing to spend the money and fill the front tires with fluid. If you want more, I think I've seen weights that bolt to the front rims. I think steiner has them?

Thanks for the information.  I'll start doing some searching and see what I can find.  I use the tractor for mowing grass, too.  I'd prefer to be able to remove the weights, versus filling the fronts with liquid, so I don't leave big ruts in the yard.  (It takes several days for my yard to dry out after a rain.  Sometimes I mow even though the ground is still a bit soft and leave tracks.  It's either that or I spend hours sweeping and raking, afterwards.)

Thanks,
Greg

I have the opportunity to buy some AC suitcase weights (~90 lbs each).  What is a fair price for them?

Called them.  Weights were sold already.  Thanks again, though.
