Browsing through an Old Allis News (Fall 2007) I read about the "Bull Moose" tractor made by Allis Chalmers for military use. It was a 300hp rubber tyred tractor that could bulldoze, pull scrapers or move big artillery pieces over rough terrain at relatively high speeds (25mph) It was capable of pulling 65,000lb and weighted 51,300lb itself. The OAN article was a reproduced sales leaflet which has 1953 penciled on it.
There is also a photo of something similar in Wendels book, The AC Story" page 195. This one's called the "BEST" (ballastable earthmoving sectionalized tractor)
I'm wondering if anyone has seen one, owns one or has driven one ? I assume they went into production ? Any information would be good.

Sorry John, I can't post the photo because the magazine is covered by copyright and I don't have permission. It's like a bigger version of a Fiat-Allis 645 loader with the cab at the extreme front and with no bucket, just a blade. It appears to be articulated and the article says it's crab steer, 4 wheel steer or a combination of both.
