The 10-18 was the first model. There are some 6-12's out there which was the second model built.

Glad to see he is not scared to drive it around like some are. I can't stand those trailer queens. Although they look nice, people tend to forget that they were meant to work to show off their beauty (both inside and out!).

There was a 10-18 that used to come to Amana several years ago. Don't know who owned it or where they were from though.

I believe there is supposed to be a serial number on the cast metal plate below the radiator on the 10-18 and seems like I was told somewhere on the front of the frame but I may be mistaken.

To see serial # you need to take the front wheel post off where it bolts to frame.I have pictures of Dave and Marks  10-18 when they had it down to the last bolt and nut .Will post pictures tonight .They restored the tractor in Larry Leitzow's shop .

REPDLP, The first 10-18, which I believe was the final prototype, was built in 1914. Production continued until 1923. No records are known to exist of serial numbers therefore specific dating of each tractor is unkown. According to Norm Swinford there was only one built in 1914.

I was just thinking, two of the surviving 6-12's are known to be model year 1919 and one of the 18-30's is a 1919. It is very possible the oldest surviving Allis Chalmers tractor might be a 6-12 or 18-30.

It appears from this chart from the old web site that the 10-18 and the 6-12 did not have serial numbers. only the number of units built each year.

I've had the pleasure to meet Dave and Mark on a couple occasions during visits to Larry's place.  Very nice people to talk with and be around.  Dave even let me and my brother Todd take a tour of their place...lots of cool stuff there to look at.
