My son just snapped the front shaft coming out of the gearbox on a 9ft M C Rotary scythe.  Does anyone know of some junk yards that might have some old ones?  Can new parts be bought today?  There is not hardly any in our neck of the woods.  Thanks

i am not familiar with that specific mower, but many Manufacturer BOUGHT the angle drive gear boxes instead of making their own.. It may have a manufacturer tag on it... If not, you can Google "angle drive gear box for 60 HP" and get a variety of options.. You just need to know if the input or output is splined or keyed or shear bolt style... I just did that for a generic 7 ft hog mower that was "generic"  manufacturer..

MC makes grain dryers now. Same company. Not sure what parts support would be on the old choppers. Could you have a machine shop make you a new shaft?
