As I was mowing this afternoon, had several hours to ponder and think of the world around me and noticed how neglected my lawnmower looks from a long season of mowing and mudding. I also hope to find the time this season after harvest to do a better job of washing the combine and other harvest associated machinery before it gets put away till spring. So the question is…When it comes to washing or to some warshing your tractor and equipment what is your go to for sudsing agent? I’ve been seeing a lot of advertisements for this Total Wash with the spray nozzle you put on the wand of your power washer. Do you think it’s all it’s cracked up to be, kinda on the expensive side but if it does what the videos show it could save time. Just wondering if anyone on here has tried it, I’m not advertising for it I’m just looking for opinions or ideas of what others use. Thanks for any input

I bought degreaser at CarQuest Auto Parts. Name is Purple Thunder if I remember correctly. Mix it 10:1. Spray it on with a garden sprayer and pressure wash. I have had good results with it. Caution: don’t mix it too strong or it will damage the paint!!!! Don’t ask how I know

Gosh, I haven’t washed a lawn mower in decades. I generally take an air nozzle and just blow of the dust, dirt, grass clippings. As I have all ‘walk behinds’, one mower for the front and side yards, and a separate one for back yard, as the wifey wants the grass cut shorter for her dog to squat and pee/poop. Got tired of adjusting the cutting height every mowing, so I picked up a 2cycle Lawn-Boy for $25.00 and each mower has its own cutting height.
------------- I tried to follow the science, but it was not there. I then followed the money, and that’s where I found the science.

Washed our rider twice in 12 years, both as it had to go back for dealer work and I did not want charged for wash up prior to mechanic time. Warranty ended where I use a leaf blower after use prior to putting away. Do use during winter as a Tractor so not ever done with for the year.
