Have a 7045 with the push pull console cable for the gear selection and I really like the simplicity of the gearshift in the red belly tractors. I have a salvage 7030. My question is will the gearshift fit into my 7045 out of the 7030. Has this been done and will the floor pan switch also or does it have to be fabricated to fit into the black belly tractors

Should work fine. Use 7030 floor plate.

Thanks Doc, not sure if I’m going to do it quite yet. Might just replace the cable until I get everything removed from the other tractor. I just needed a piece of mind before I jumped into it. Too many things on the agenda. Do you have any advice for putting that shift cable in the correct location under the cab. I’m not so sure it was in there right because it was rammed up against the floor plate go through hole and rubbed a gash in the cable. Just seems like a mess of a way to put it in. I had to cut it the cable to even remove it

Everything is pretty tight and you cannot get rough installing the new one or it won't work right. After 50 years, I'm sure the rubber cab mounts have settled some and 1/4" is a lot. Make the hole oversize if you have to. Have to work from inside the cab and up above the batteries to get it done.
