I have what I believe is a 7 ft model 20 snap coupler disk. I was told prior owner pulled it with a D-14. I adjusted the hitch height with the screw and have used it successfully on my WD45 with 13 X 28 tires.
Friday I put it on my D-17 (13 x 28) and I seem to have a problem with popping the lift arm snap on one side loose and riding into the opposite tire on turns. Yep, I know "lift it on tight turns" but this was happening on gradual turns as well. The eye is adjusted as far out as possible. Kind of narrowed it down to possible weak spring on latch, chains not the right length, or maybe they had a longer eye setup. Did they have a longer eye or pull bar

Some one can correct me when i am wrong but i think the tongue was shorter if it was for a ca?

Your lift arm latches have the mounting set-screw pointed which way ?? They cannot be pointed IN. They must be pointed OUT. A weak spring is very possible. Model 200 ??

Set screws are on the outside. Forgot to list that one.
Might be a 200; no model number I can find on it. No upper structure to put down pressure from tongue. Tongue height has a fine thread adjustment screw with the flat stock welded on top to turn it. Will change springs on the tractor.

I have seen lift latches that are worn in the lower notch which will allow the pin to ride up and out.

Thank you. I probably won't have it out until next summer, so it may be a while before I see if those changes worked.

For what it's worth: Found an extra chain/T that I was given some time ago. The "T" that snaps into the latch has a definite inside/outside offset shape that would make it more prone to staying in or more prone to popping out.

I have a mounted snap coupler disk. The piece only goes into the latch one way, or I'll say that it fit's nicely one way or not so good or not at all the other way.

I'd have ot hoook mine up to know for sure, but when I hook up the chain it seem spretty obvious that one way is correct and the other is backwards
