So a problem that is getting my goat and got me scratching my head. Anyway the problem is it don’t like to reverse up a hill (lots of times giving it a push gets it to move) and it don’t travel at factory speeds. Tractor data stats it should travel forward @8.1 mph and reverse @3.8 mph. I have forward @5.1 and reverse @2.8-3.5 mph (on flat ground) so definitely something’s not right.
So far I have came up with it’s is a Victors T66 hydro equipped with a soft start valve which is possibly our problem. And some of the linkage most likely has slop.
Any one out there know what I’m talking about and maybe a fix? Maybe replace the soft start valve and springs?
I will try and pull all the linkage off and get all the slop out before digging too much into the hydro.

What kind of condition is the drive belt in (glazed over, stretched, chunks out of it)?

It’s not the best shape, maybe I should try replacing it… It has plenty of tighter left so I wonder if the belt is too tight…. Bought a new cheap belt though Carquest and it flew apart in a short amount of time so the old one went back on which after putting the mower deck on and putting Carquest belts on it they both went to crap in the first mowing.
