Replacement seat cushions are available with wood or steel backing. What are pros and cons. I understand if a tractor is not “shedded” and left outside all the time the wood backing will deteriorate faster than the steel. If the tractor is kept under a shed/barn would the wood backing serve just as well as the steel. Thoughts…opinions appreciated.
Thanks

If under cover the wood would be fine. However I went with the metal on my XT and it is under a shed. Definitely holds up better.

the old seats were bonded on the d17. no seams to take on water and soak the foam. i have a two pc. black and white on d17 and it took on water the first day due to the seams. put a 3 piece like on 190. it takes takes on water at the seams. i flip the seats onto steering wheel to reduce water in the seats. i will be having them recovered hopefully with one each on seat and back.
