Time has arrived again for the F-350. Waiting on oil and fuel filter to arrive via Amazon. Just could no longer justify the prices at the Ford stealership. Now in search of CI-4/CJ-4 diesel engine oil. Have been using Mobil Delvac Extreme 15w40(CK-4) the past three changes, but the price on that is also becoming unjustifiable. Heading to Midland Texas later this week, I should be to acquire the rest of what I need there. Even all the national chains that within 30 miles of my house have a wider selection of brands in Midland.

Delvac 1300 15w40 is a great oil for todays modern diesels (CK-4) I have been researching, lately and the general consensus is for older(way older) diesels a CF or CI has better additive package especially for non-turbo engines. CF is like trying to find a needle in a haystack, but CI/CJ is more prevalent. A couple weeks ago I noticed Wally World was charging over $50.00 for the 2.5 gal jug of 15w40 full synthetic. I have noticed a slight oil leak on the back side of one valve cover, hopefully a high quality mineral oil will stem the leak from getting worse. I change oil & filter every 3,500 miles.
