Greetings Gentlemen, I'm working on a "56 CA and was wondering what the best brand/type of engine oil filter to use these days, it has a 57011 Wix on it now, are these good filters or should I get something else?

WIX, Fram C159, Baldwin T300 -M ............. all basically the same.... use any you have at local Vendor.... the WIX is the same as NAPA 7011 .

Like them all, but love the "B"s.

The Baldwin-T300, Fram 159 & Fleetguard 571 are filters I'd use.
After the way Wix/NAPA tried the cheapen their filters a few years ago resulting in multiple engine failures and the receint claim they are packed with sawdust. I'll NEVER use a Wix/NAPA filter on anything.

If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere.
Real pullers don't have speed limits.
If you can't make it GO... make it SHINY

the WIX filters are NOT packed with sawdust.. It is compressed Cotton right out of the field.. YES, there are some seeds in the cotton wad... There is also a 1/4 inch thick felt pad against the discharge screen that keeps ANYTHING from going out of the filter, except oil.. If you cut the filter open and actually look at the HARD COMPACTED COTTON you would see that no seeds could possibly move thru the filter.... I would guess that the FRAM and BALDWIN filters are the same, but i dont know.. Would be interesting to see someone cut one of them open...

The OLD WIX filter (NAPA) that was made out of paper instead of cotton did result in oil pressure loss... BAD... That was probably 20 years ago... The new filters have no such problem.
