Neighbor has a 7000 for sale but I was for a little more hp. Can the pumps on these tractors be turned up to get a few more pony’s without consequences?

The 7000 has the old style bull gears and shares next to nothing with the other 7000 series tractors. If you want anything more then a tricked out 190xt3/200 tractor then keep looking.

Actually, there is a lot of difference between the 7000 and 190XT or 200.

The 7000 has three ranges in each gear. They call it a Power Shift (in each of the four gears), but in my opinion, that's not really accurate. There is no neutral between shifts like in the Power Director in the 190XT and 200.

The 7000 also has independent PTO that none of the 100 series had.

As far as turning it up, I'm sure it can be, but I also expect it would affect long term reliability. They were engineered for a certain amount of weight and horsepower. If you ant more of either, my recommendation would be to buy a bigger tractor.

If you are looking for draft applications, would not reccomend more hp, IF you are using PTO hp you can get 115 with little concern. The ring gear/pinion, bullgears , trans gears are all different and designed to eliminate the issues with the prior series. There is a tranny brake that must be kept in adjustment or you will grind out the reverse idler.
