1963 Allis Chalmers D19, gasoline, wide front, survivor. #13101

New Member here... I'd like to rebuild my original Water Pump to keep the
original casting (#134445).  I have only found replacement pumps, but no rebuild kits.
Also, I'm not sure of the quality of replacement water pumps available.

Has anyone rebuilt one of these?  If so, what aftermaket bearings, seals,
gaskets, and impeller was used?  Any details would be appreciated like sizes & part numbers.

There is a different style between gas & diesel water pumps.  And also between Late
and Early Gas models, which is the length of the shaft (ie. Early Gas water pumps use
a longer shaft (4-15/16" length) versus the Late Gas (5") is my understanding)

I'm pretty handy, and have a friend that can assist with pressing out the shaft, etc.
I would like to get the aftermarket parts in advance to make the job easier.  In addition,
I am planning to replace the water tube, upper & lower radiator hoses, fan belts, etc.
Hopefully I can keep the radiator in place during this process.

Any other advice would be welcome.  Thank you in advance.

Call Brenda at Sandy Lake Implement. She got me a kit sometime ago for a D15 Diesel waterpump that a customer sent to me to rebuild
Or there are many places that will rebuild any waterpump you send them, Just get a Hemmings Motor News and look up "waterpump rebuilding"

If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere.
Real pullers don't have speed limits.
If you can't make it GO... make it SHINY

Do you have early or late model. Parts book says early has long filler neck on radiator     4-15/16”.
Later model have short

Early or late model might not apply if engine has been replaced (combine engine)!

Update: About to remove the Water Pump.

Removed the radiator, and need advice on the Power Steering Pump bracket.

Looks like I need to remove the P/S pulley, then the pump, to get the bracket off....

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Note: This is an Early Gasoline 1963 D-19, S/N 13101.

UPDATE: Need to source a Water Tube, bypass for thermostat.

Doe's anyone have a source for this part?  1963 D-19 Gasoline Engine.

This tube is hard metal, with compression fittings on both ends.

Is it shown on page 67, of the D-19 Operators Manual, as Item #1 (shown in photo below).

Have a new Radiator, and rebuilt Water Pump ready to install.

Alex at A&W tractor was able to make one recently for my D15 diesel.  It fit perfectly.

You DO NOT want to remove the power steering pumps pulley !!!  They have a tendency to have that cheap lock nut get loose, and then the loose pulley destroys it and the shaft !! I always used a regular NF nut and red loctite it when rebuilding a pump (from the pulley getting loose) and tightening the nut tight. Have never once had a failure after using a real nut and loctite.
