I’m adding the second battery (fender mount) to my D15 Diesel Series 1. What size cables do I need to run? I can’t find any information as far as OE goes so I’m thinking 1/0 just based on length and amperage. Does anyone have any firsthand knowledge they can share?

Stock was probably 2 Gauge... I would agree that the 1/0 is a good upgrade and real benifit when its cold outside..

Like them all, but love the "B"s.

Steve @ B&B Custom circuits made one for my D15 diesel.  I'm pretty sure it was 2/0 and was 8 foot in length to get back to the accessory battery over the axle.  Works well and definitely helps having 2 batteries.

Bigger can't hurt when it comes to battery cables. They should never feel hot when starting, if so you're either cranking the engine tooo long or the cables are tooo small.

If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere.
Real pullers don't have speed limits.
If you can't make it GO... make it SHINY

Just made one for D-17-3 out of 2/0 welder cable.

I use 2/0 welding cable as well and crimp the ends with my crimp tool.
