Well the tractor I bought off a member of this forum arrived on Thursday and I am already working on making it mine. He really made me a good deal and this machine is awesome!

I have someone welding up a bracket for the front to hang some suitcase weights and I am thinking about removing the piece circled in blue that the hand crank engages to.  I have the original handcrank still, but I am thinking having this mechanism is a moot point.  How hard is it to remove this piece?

Here are some more pictures of my machine.  I had to wash all the road salt off from the ride to PA.  It wasn't easy in the cold weather.  I then brought it inside to start setting it up for our farm.  I decided to rub it down with some linseed oil.  It really brings the old paint up a little.  I will paint the engine to cover up the
primer they put on when they rebuilt it.

Just whack it off and leave 1/2" sticking out. You want the hole plugged to keep dirt out.

It's actually kind of handy if you ever have to work on the distributor.

Also handy when doing valve adjustment.
