I'm going to rebuild my ca engine, need a complete overhaul kit. Where are some places to buy a good quality kit? I'd like to hear your experience, the good and the bad. Thanks

i am guessing that most of the kits are made in the same factory overseas... all in the $500. price range... You will notice that original B had 3-1/4 inch bore.. C and CA had 3-3/8 inch bore... All aftermarket "KITS" for those engines are 3-7/16 bore... all the same compression ratio.... possibly someone has something different, but i think "most" of the kits are all the same... just pick a good vendor of your choice.

these would be pistons, liners, rings and gaskets... You buy the valves ..... and bearings seperate depending on the condition of your crank.

Like them all, but love the "B"s.

We sell both 3-3/8" piston/sleeve kits and the 3-7/16" overbore piston/sleeve kits. I'd definitely recommend buying from a business that uses what they sell on their own customer repairs! That would be A&W Tractor or oktractor.com

I choose to sell both in my store to offer the customer different multiple options to best suite their needs. The original kit is slightly more fuel efficient, and the oversize kit will give slightly more power. We dynoed a B this fall that we rebuilt with the oversize pistons and it was showing 21hp right away. That will go up a few points after the engine is broke in.
