Anyone that has a Gas 170 knows the shutoff valve is in a very unhandy to get to place. I added this Legend 101-520 1/8” ball valve in front of the sediment bowl.

| I get it. My problem with that design would be a tractor that got used hard and a lot, the weight of the extra pipe thread plumbing will likely loosen up in time. And the Zenith carb is aluminum to boot. I moved my sediment bowl out from under the tank to a place I can easily access it under and behind the left hood rear side panel and then rubber hose to the carb. I could add an in-line filter easily if I wanted to. |
