          | I know this has probably been discussed, but I’m having no luck finding the solution. I have a new to me Gleaner F2 with the Allis Chalmers 4 Cylinder Turbo Diesel Engine in it. I have fuel all the way to the port where it enters the injection pump, but can’t get anything out of any of the four injector line ports coming back out of the injection pump. This machine has been sitting for the last 8-10 years. Do we think it is the fuel shut off solenoid inside the top of the injection pump? Looking for pointers. I haven’t taken the top off of the injection pump yet to check, just wanted to gauge the audience’s opinion first. Any help or pointers will be greatly appreciated! |

          | A functioning electric shut-off can be heard "click" when the key is turned on or 12 volts is applied to the wire. On/Off you should be able to hear something. Might take two people and the cab door needs to be shut. |

          | Most likely the metering valve and/or plungers are stuck, sitting in today's diesel fuel is not good on injection pumps. If taking top cover off reveals it's nasty inside, you're better off just taking it off and having it properly torn down, cleaned and rebuilt. If it ends up seizing the head, it gets really expensive to rebuild and buy a head & rotor, and drive shaft and gear as well. I don't think new heads are available anymore, so good used is our only option. I like to keep people from seizing them up to start with. Good luck!

 In theory yes. Seems harder to find a good shop these days. Many on this forum have done business with Ed and know him to be above board and top notch in his work. You probably have an "ED" in your neck of the woods but I have no clue how you find him. Good luck and one rebuild is all it will ever need. |

          | Yes, I get pumps shipped to me every week from all over the country. I'd avoid the post office, I prefer ups. As mentioned above, I've done work for a lot of members on this page. I work on all color tractor fuel injection systems, but am an AC guy myself, having a few orange tractors lol!
