Whitetail Doe in our Backyard

https://ibb.co/XfC8qtzw" rel="nofollow">

This deer looks either old or poorly to me.

https://ibb.co/RT2K4s4w" rel="nofollow">

It may not even be a doe at all; but, a buck that is too old to grow another set of antlers.

It has a big raw-looking spot behind it's ear that looks like where it may have shed an antler.

What do you think ?

We are sitting on Swan Pond Bottom Road on the East side of the new US127 Trestle looking South.

The deer are between Trestle Piers #1 and #2 of five.

Trestle Pier #4 is near the road on the South side; Trestle Pier #5 is behind us.

Whitetail Doe

https://ibb.co/4wLfW3X3" rel="nofollow">

East side of County Park Road between Smith Ridge Road and Emerald Isle; just down the road from the Doe and Fawns in the previous photos.

As a whole, these Taylor County/Green River Lake Deer are not so healthy looking as our Deer around here.

Our Deer are big as Quarterhorses and slick as moles; these Green River Deer, you can see their backbone and count every rib; it makes me wonder if they might be fighting some sort of Deer disease.

Good to know you have healthier deer than the ones pictured. I know many farmer think of them as long legged rats. But to me they are predictor food so wildlife does not get a taste for beef.

As Seen on County Park Road

Two Whitetail Fawns

https://ibb.co/cc7zbZQV" rel="nofollow">

Not sure what they are standing in; Cane, Millet, or Corn; the actual Corn fields are over-your-head high.

It is a very narrow strip alongside the road, miles from any actual cropland; I suspect it has been purposefully planted here to attract the deer out in the open so travellers can see them.

I am going to predict a Whitetail Deer population boom; I have seen more baby deer this summer than in all the years before combined.

Telephotographic compression makes the curve in the road appear to be much sharper than it really is.
