State of MO, from KC to STL is being revamped, Our sections are Columbia MO to Kingdom City and Wentzville MO to Warrenton for now, after which will be Warrenton to Danville(Loutre River) and Kingdom City to Mineola Hill (the Loutre River opposing bank).
So we started this little soiree' with two Concrete suppliers Just For this highway work, one in Millersburg and one at Foristell, where the latter is just getting to speed, is also KCi and ESS as to Overpass and Bridge reconstruction going on. The problem I just recognized is the volumes. The customers will need to be pouring 2000 Yards of Batch EACH at night EVERY Night they pour. 4000 Yards of Concrete Per Night, we cannot supply Sand, NO ONE can Supply Sand at that rate to which the regular usage rates of 200-500yds per day for all non-associated Concrete plants surrounding these sites will not be stopped either. Is NOT Enough Sand being harvested from the MO River available positions to feed this. Not Every region of the River has a functional Sand storage region to draw from, ask a Dredge Operator, are Mud Holes, Sand and then Gravel holes, they get drawn down and the river grudgingly reloads those, it does not make sand deposits everywhere nor overnight.
Then The REAL Problem, we are hauling the recovered sand WET, REALLY Wet, as in not having more than one to three days drain/dry down time on the bank, my trailer will be dripping as get to the yard this morning from Sand loaded yesterday at 3:30pm, UNSUSTAINABLE when air temps drop into the Thirties, that point being just a few WEEKS Away. Will NOT release and Unload from the hauling bed, will Stick and be Stuck, takes time and back breaking labor to Shave the beds once Frozen. This will not be any better for dredge crews attempting to send that sand to the Bank Piles by raft and conveyors.
