I have recently acquired a couple of nos plow shares, the really old ones. Number 308808(right) and 309227(left) . Does it make any sense for me (actually, us) to see if i can get them scanned for cad/cam purposes? I will never need another set but once they are gone, there are gone. I don't understand anything about the fabrication process or the cost. It is just a general question.

That is an interesting thought, not sure how I would advise? Left hand wear parts are rare to say the least. One buddy of mine is kind of big into roll-over plows so I hear about his struggles to find decent parts.

If you have access to that there is no reason to not. Not likely anyone has an engineering print of them so this is three quarters of the battle of getting some made

Scanning these would be easy, but you need the right equipment. I'm sure a Google search you might find a local business.
Years back, I did some 3d scanning. Taking some special. .50" diameter stickers on a part and placing them everywhere, allowed a scanning hand gun to pick up the locations and build a 3d model on a computer.
I'm sure there is better technology now, than 12 years ago.
