Wife and I are traveling today, here a ‘sociatal question, why in Public Restrooms do men flush the toilet before sitting down? Also, as companion question, why flush a urinal before use? ------------- I tried to follow the science, but it was not there. I then followed the money, and that’s where I found the science. |

| On occasion I come across a fixture that was not flushed by the previous user. So there's that. I sometimes wonder if it's a mental thing that helps the user get the juices flowing |

Worked with a fella, had Bashful Bladder syndrome, HAD to use a Toilet as anyone in the general vicinity would shut down his 'Flow'.. Not that us Co Workers would let that become a game!!

| With the advent of electronic flush on toilets and urinals to save water I often flush by using the mechanical override as the toilet or urinal did not flush and there is feces or urine left or emitting an odor. Personal responsibility is not part of large segments of our society! Just observe the shopping carts left in parking lots not returned to the cart corral! |

The refletive material on our uniforms at work will set off the electronic sensors, if you walk past a row of urinals every one of them will flush. Funny enough they all have the little tag that they are certified high efficiency for water conservation.
