Hi everyone i have a 1951 Allis Chalmers HD5 Crawler. It runs great. Im going to tear it down and restore it and repaint it. Im in search of some parts to make it complete. I will pay for shipping. I live in CA. I want to find headlights, engine panels, and the lower panels, and if anyone has a good seat and arm rests over the batteries. If not ill have to make a seat. My cell is 530 306 4267 -Tanner

Welcome to Unofficial Allis. Not many of us in California.

A good number of HD5's in the area, but side panels are very rear. Don't think I have ever seen any in the wild, just at tractor shows.

I believe an original seat would have steel springs. My dad must have got pocked real good, because he ordered new bottom cushion about 1970.  It showed up with price between $125 and $175 not happy. I don't believe you can find new seats with springs anywhere now.   Today Hahn Tractor Seats has been the place for restoration quality seats. I could not find a web site only a Facebook page and phone number  there 208 340 5084. They have been active for a long time in the antique Caterpillar club, so I know a generational change has been going on. But have not heard any complaints about the work. Just takes time.

Lights should easy any generic 1950's tractor lights were more or less the same. Guide light was the most common brand on other crawlers but in a bigger size. I will look around what is here. I know last time I used lights on my HD5 I put several newer sealed beam lights on so I could real see something.

To Ray
Were the Model M headlights different than the HD5 or 7? I remember one of the locals there on G14 had a set of original headlights off his dad's "M". I acquried quite a bit of "M" parts from him when he moved.

Thanks Tad

I want to say the lights for a M where a lot bigger. And being from a earlier time I want to say the lenses was flat not curved like more modern ones are.

Wink But a darn near 100 year old tractor who knows who done what.

Seeing your post the crawler section Gemdozer is a good guy from everything I have seen in my years here. But he is in eastern French speaking Canada. So a long way and his English is poor at best, but very knowledgeable.
