I tried using my recent purchase 190XT SeriesI today and found a pto failure. I knew when I bought it that it had a pto issue, seller thought it was control linkage. I got the detent freed up on the linkage for the hydraulic clutch and assumed I had fixed the linkage issue. Hooked it to a baler, no pto. After a few choice words and unhooking the baler I remembered that they have the mechanical disconnect on the left side, so I crawled underneath and checked. Sure enough lever was down. Pushed it back up, hooked up baler and got about quarter of a revolution, lever dropped to disengage position again. I assume it uses the same detent as the no clutch models, is it possible to have a weak spring in the detent or is it likely I have issues inside? It didn't take much effort to shift it. Any thoughts and/or advice is appreciated.

I'm thinking it isn't going 100% into full engagement. From the full OFF position to full ENGAGED position would be 45 degrees of travel on that lever. Not 25 or 30 degrees, but 45 degrees. If the front end of the rear PTO shaft is burred up or has any kind of damage or twist to it, that will keep you from engaging fully.

I think you are correct, it went from angled down slightly to pointing straight back. It will probably be a few days before I get back to it, baling alfalfa at the other farm plus the full time job. Thank you for the input.
