Tractor had been sitting a couple weeks. Started up, raised the load on the 3 point no problem. A bit later lowered it then went to raise it and no response at all.

All other hydraulic functions still work fine. Finally got the implement unhooked and the tractor moved away from it and arms still won’t raise. You can manually lift them then when you let go they drop again. Last few inches of drop they slow down.

Power Director if that matters.

I can think of 4 possibilities. Control cable broke from the position control handle to the valve. The lever that mives the spool slipped past the end of the spool. Not likely. Ive never seen it on a 7/8000 series. Hose to the internal cylinder is busted or the cylinder is busted. I had the internal cylinder on a 8070 go bad one time

Lube the pivot points in the linkage behind the cab.

Lynn, not to discredit that thought, but why would it work perfectly, then 2 minutes later not work at all?  And would I still be able to lift it by hand like I do if the pivots needed lube that badly??

It's not the easiest, but you should be able to see the linkage move the spool into the valve body from behind. It should lift at that time as long as the pressure is correct and it doesn't have a massive internal leak. Be careful back there in case the three point decides to raise. You don't want to get caught between the arms and the cab.

You could have someone move the lever in the cab while you look a the spool with the engine off so theres no chance of getting hurt. If that spool is pushing in and coming back out you almost certainally have a internal leak
