Wife and I had decided back in Spring to take another run to Eureka Springs, this time in the Camper rather than a Hotel. So off we went last Sunday to The Kettle Campground, just at Eureka Springs City Limits. When I made reservation there was ONE Pull Thru large enough that was not booked so took it on faith would work. It DID.
Sadly old RV AC did NOT for long, temps rose over 86 and the mechanism would cease cooling, go into Overdrive and then amp out trip breaker. Learned to manually cycle and adjust temp at T-stat to maintain function until Last Evening. High hit 94, Sun set was aimed directly at Roof Unit, Humidity crossed a narrow line to 87%, could not get to cool below 85 until close to 9pm, then coaxed to 80 and left there for the sleep hours. Awoke twice and dropped temp into 70s where it worked but wife was done, we had 'The Talk' Came home this morning.
Will be on the RV Roof in early hours tomorrow, inspecting the External systems and wiring, perhaps have a nest of sorts sucked up to Condenser, doubtful but will go there. Then will pull lower cover and inspect for Cross Flow Hot to Cold Side, see if have lost seals along those boundaries and finally if nothing found, ID the BTU, a Model number and see what I can get to replace this. Couple other small issues but nothing cannot handle simply and here.
Pics of the Site and map to position. LOADS of Loblolly Pines along the site routes, was a test of my abilities to access and egress, was just fine.
Would be On the Harley at 8-9am, be in Restaurant, Shops, or a 'Lounge' prior to getting to Smoldering hot. By 1pm would be back in camp to pool swim or to stroll about under the shade. Rode thru much of Town, areas seldom visited as streets Narrow and STEEP, back to the Crescent where we stayed in 2010, lovely old Hotel, haunted BTW, Beaver Lake, the Golden Gate of the Ozarks and a few chosen spots we remembered and are still active as Pied Piper and Cathouse Bar and Grill. The ABSOLUTE BEST Breakfast Bloody Mary money can buy.
