Use to be 410 was a low cost varmint gun - and then prices went crazy - https://www.academy.com/c/outdoors/shooting/ammunition/shotshells?&facet=facet_Gauge/Caliber:16%20Gauge&facet=facet_Gauge/Caliber:.410%20Bore" rel="nofollow - https://www.academy.com/c/outdoors/shooting/ammunition/shotshells?&facet=%27facet_Gauge/Caliber%27:%2716%20Gauge%27&facet=%27facet_Gauge/Caliber%27:%27.410%20Bore%27

Turkey loads says it all. My son in law and his 3 boys hunt turkey successfully and the turkey loads make all the difference. The knock down power is the difference....and yes they are pricey but worth it!

Mebbie it's just a local thing... but if I had turkey loads in a .410, the LAST thing I'd ever wanna hafta use 'em on, is a turkey... hafta be way too close, and with the turkeys around here, if you don't get 'em fast, they get YOU.... about as close to trench warfare as you can get... and that's not even during hunting season!
