I have an AC 8070 with front wheel assist and a Hardie Ditch Bank mower on the back . I have beet juice in both front tires. Duel wheels on the rear with fluid and weights . I have the complete set of front weights on the tractor. My issue is the tractor is still light in the front . I have an idea of putting duels on the front filled with beet juice also. Anybody on here done this with a AC 8070 before ? Are there any draw backs to such an application ? This would give me more weight up front and stability as I mow on hill sides and next to a pond. Thank You, Rodney.

I wouldn't. The king pins area isn't very robust and duals on the front won't help that. You do what you want.

If you need more front end weight you could put a tank of water on the front.

I agree with Doc. May consider a different tractor for that application. Sounds like your pushing the limit as is. My ol AC mechanic told me to take care of the fwa on my 8050, "Some day it will be a 2 wheel drive that looks like a fwa." Leon B MO

Would it make a difference if you moved the front axle forward? Have seen a few tractors like that. Not sure if it was done to improve the ride or increase stability with heavy 3ph implements. With the axle moved forward could a guy not add more weight to the front end without increasing the load on the axle (as compared to the original location)?

I think most FWA axles moved forward was done to improve the ride. Yes, moving it forward would help keep the front end down better and not increase (but lessen) king pin load. The only downside is turning radius won't be as short.

Somewhere around here I have some advertising literature from I believe it was Unverferth that shows front duals on an 8070 that they were making. We've never ran them but we did buy an 8030 at one point that was set up to run front duals. They didnt come with it though. The front end was ok under it, but no telling how much it was used with them. Running a ditch bank mower shouldnt put the stress on the front end like heavy tillage would. If front duals would make it safer for you to run, Id put them on.
