anyone have any info on 918 TLB built on 190 frame with torque converter and shuttle reverser -

Big machine , 2500 engine I believe, 1 1/2 yd bucket, 18' dig depth. not many made and if in diecent shape is a work-horse but need lot of room to manuver it around.

I have one. Will dig a true 18 foot hole, but will not get the hoe bucket very high in the air. So its not much for demolition with the hoe. Front bucket has lots of capacity will pick up about 7000 pounds pretty easily. It gets stuck in the mud, very heavy and no front wheel assist, but it has a strong stick and will pull itself out of the mud.
Two very common problems are 1; a leak of fluid out of the bell housing bottom hole. This is caused by the torque converter partially breaking the flex plate and then moving off center causing a leak when flood gets warmer. The second problem is that the hoe stick will wander to one side or the other when driving around. This is caused by the "anti-smack" valves that AC used to slow the boom rotation down as it approached the end of its swing. I have not found a replacement for the valves so I just plumbed around them. Keep a good operator on it or you can smack the boom against its stops pretty easy.
I have driven 6 of these machine, all had these two problems. Of course the tranny will be prone to pop out of the usual gears as the machine accumulates hours. They are good machines, just bulky. If I ever got rich I would get another one so both of my kids would have one. If you have any specific questions give me a yell
