I'm restoring a d17 series IV.  The rear rims have a little rust , but not too bad.  How do I improve the looks of these rims.  Paint?  If so what paint and procedure should I use?  Are those rims galvanized metal?

Take the rubber off and get the rims sandblasted.  If there is lots of metal left, but pitted on the outside, you can fill those areas with body fill.  Afterwards, prime and paint with an aluminum colored paint.
