I am getting ready to try and drive my A II home and I am gonna be trying to drive fifteen or so miles…I have a two row cornhead on it now and was thinking of locking the emergency head stop for the trip but this sticker says not for transport? Any reason you wouldn’t want it locked for a longer road trip? I am kinda concerned about a hose blow out or something like that and the header dropping on the ground.

Put it in place and keep the head fully raised with hyd. If a hose pops it will keep it off the road. Holding only one ram has a tendency to twist the housing with a head on it.

I’d replace its bad hydraulic hose(s) before driving it down the road.
How good are its brakes?
Most gleaners were nose heavy with a corn head mounted on them. That is usually an advantage for drive wheel traction while in the field operating in 1st or 2nd gear. On the road in high gear, it is not a good combination. If road drive contains any serious downhill grades, then rear steer wheel’s contact can be compromised. If in a dire situation and quickly dropping the head isn’t a choice to control its speed/direction, then what?
