ever used Warby-Parker for purchasing eye glass frames? How did it work out for you?

I have not... My eyes are about 40-100 and i need bifocals.. They have not changed in 15 years.. I seem to scratch / tear up a pair of glasses in a years time... Local GLASS place was $300. or more and would NOT just get new glasses.. Wanted to "check your eyes" every other year.......
I finally gave up on the LOCAL and started order from EYEGLASSDIRECT dot COM... Cost $100. for bifocals.. I order a pair once a year for the past 12 years.. I keep the 1 year old for WORK and the new set for GOOD.... I got by prescription for mine 15 years and and reuse it every year....... Vision is better than 20- 20 with glasses.
Not for everyone, buy works for me.
------------- Like them all, but love the "B"s.

Have some friends who swear the only place to get glasses is at Zenni Optical is an online-only retailer of prescription glasses and sunglasses. It was founded in San Francisco in 2003. The company keeps prices lower by selling glasses directly to consumers, without an intermediary and avoiding overhead costs.

I used to get bi-focals when working, first set the bi-focal was in the bottom 1/2 of the glasses, my puter screens at work were mounted up high, had to sit for 8 plus hours with my head back...kept putting cricks in my neck. they changed them and put the bi-focals in the top 1/2 of the glasses, that worked at work, but couldn't use them anywhere else like reading unless in jammed my chin down in my chest!. went and bought them cheater glasses and all was well everywhere, at work and at home or anywhere else. still use them and not upset if they break. each eye doc said they would ruin my eyes...but after 25 years of using them, I don't think my eyes have gone downhill yet. still need them for reading and looking at the puter screens, same as 25 years ago. don't need anything to look at anything across the table or room or while driving. the eye docs are just PO'ed that they couldn't get the thousands of dollars outta me I think! I don't think the cheaters are for everyone, but worked good for me.

But are they still cheaper if you got 40 or 50 pare of them stashed all over your cars, house, and barns and tractors. My wife is that way, always looking for a pare to read something.
I put bifocals off several times. Once I really tried not to bad. I have needed glasses for far away since a teen. But can still read the fine print and all just as well with out if I get up real close. So I only have one pare sitting on my face or in hand as I read some smudged print or something like a bearing number, then put them right back on.
I have had plenty of time I cussed the glasses, but just about as many they acted like safety glasses and saved getting all manner of crud in my eyes.
I have always gotten mine local, because they are very good at adjusting them to not slide down my nose or start rubbing on my ears and hurting. Even putting new hinges and bars on when I have gotten smack in the face all no charge. If I walk in the door about 15 or 20 minites and all fixed. I imagine when a new generation take over the practice that could all change. But until it dose, they have my business.

I had Lasik in January 2002 and have never regretted it. I was told, at the time I had the procedure, that I would need reading glasses eventually and they were right.
Since there is a lot of macular degeneration in our family, I still have an annual exam at an ophthalmologist. In addition to eye health, they do a regular vision test. After 21 years, my sight is still 20/20, but I do need 1.25 correction for reading.
My ophthalmologist gives all of his clients a prescription for what they need for glasses. They do have am eyeglass dispensing section in their office, but anyone that needs glasses is free to buy wherever they wish. Many do buy from online vendors.
I encourage everyone to periodically visit an ophthalmologist. Buy your glasses wherever you want, but make sure your eyes are healthy!
