Had a recent trip to San Antonio, TX for work and found this AC motor in the old Pearl Brewery. The motor is connected to some type of York compressor / pump?? Glad to see they saved some AC history. The Brewery complex has been renovated into a shopping, eating and entertainment area.

4000? Volts 254 amps? 3 ph. 225 hp 30 or 80 cycle(can’t make out) ------------- I tried to follow the science, but it was not there. I then followed the money, and that’s where I found the science. |

What was the pumps function, perhaps refrigerator pump using ammonia? |

| most likely an early ammonia compressor that ran almost continuously due to the fact that it's a Synchronous motor probably to help in Power Factor Correction. |
