In between corn silage and starting picking, i decided to try to get the converted #10 roto baler working. Made good progress but i think George said he could get any hedge row roto baler working in a day. He was wrong. I have everything turning but who ever parked it must have left a part of a bale in the chamber because the gears are they are halfway up in the rack and i can't get enough tension on the upper belts to start them rotating. How do i get the gears to drop to the bottom of the gear rack. Thank you.

you'll need to trip loose the arms to eject the bale to reset it to start the bale making sequence.

OK, Have you ever run an Allis round baler? There are latches that hold the bale chamber shut. Open those latches, and get the partial bale out. Those latches have to be operable in order to get baler running. Once you get the partial bale out be sure all belts are contacting the appropriate roller. The metal rollers support belts have grease zerks.

Be sure those are greased. Make sure all rollers are loose. It might not hurt to carefully reverse the baler using the reverse feature. If you don't have one, an operator and parts book is very handy. Read it before you start in. There is a lot to operating and running a small round baler.

An actual 10 round baler has an overdrive to keep hay in motion while bale is being ejected. Having operated an ordinary rotobaler for years, stopping to eject the bale is muchly preferred in my mind.

And i tripped the upper trip rod but the rocker arm won't fall

Rust in pivot bolts, pivot pins on long rod's to top roller, and every place that has to move. Start freeing all bolts and pins. If all is not free, it will never enject a bale in the field. Needs to enject bale quick for a #10 to work. MACK

You were right as always mack. Parts were free but there was just enough rusty slime to bind everything up
