Approximately how much would a narrow front C and a narrow front CA weight? I was wondering if I could haul both of them on my dual axle car trailer. Looking at going about 70 miles. Thanks, Dave

There are a lot of variables; weights, calcium in tires, etc. I know several people that pull CA's in the 2500 lb. class (includes the driver).

Again, there are variables. What is the GVW of your trailer and what will you be pulling the trailer with? If your trailer has a load capacity of 5000 lbs. or more (and has tire capacity), your trailer should be adequate. Keep in mind that the GVW includes the weight of the trailer, also. Some car trailers have only about a 3,000 lb. capacity. There should be a tag on the right front of the trailer telling the GVW of the trailer.

As an example, here is a picture of my truck and trailer, getting ready to go to a show last year. The trailer has a GVW of 16,800 lbs. and weighs about 4400 lbs. empty, which means I have a capacity of about 12,400 lbs. The truck has a gooseneck/fifth wheel trailer capacity of 21,700 lbs. |

In Illinois , the average car hauler plate is 8,000 pounds... and the trailer would weigh about 2500 pounds so you can haul 5500 pounds of "weight"... which is a good size car or 1/2 ton pickup... YES, the CA and C should fit as they weight about 5,000 pounds together... Back the CA on, then jackknife the front tire to one side in the middle... Pull the C on behind it and jackknife the front tire to the opposite side so you can pull on further and get the weight on the axles.. ------------- Like them all, but love the "B"s. |
