Wink You out in fly over country been talking of 20 to 50 cent jumps in 1 or 2 day already last week. So I was very pleased Sunday that it was only 3 or 4 more cents than a week before. But was back in town yesterday Cry they got me, 30 cents more Cry 5.76.

Just down the street at another generally cheaper place $5.99.  But of course we are paying a sin tax of a buck a gal ( carbon tax ) for not being green. It just makes me so happy that government is atoning for my sins against nature. Angry

Yep it is costly to live in Paradise. But it costs to shovel "pretty" too.LOL An I ant never done that yet. Wink But this mixed up weather stuff who knows.  We had a killing frost last week. So I guess I better be ready for a rain in the middle of a drought now that summer time when it never rains drought or not. Wink Cause the old timers always warned if it freezes it can rain too.LOL

If your not familiar Clap  we can grow a orange tree on top of a high hill and have killing frost at the bottom of that hill in mid May.  A land of extremes. Going to be high 90's today.

Gas here in Pennsylvania is going up to around $5 and diesel is coming down. It’s funny how you hardly hear about diesel being $6.30-$7.00 but when gas hits $5 all hell breaks loose Lol. That cuts into camping trips, Sunday drives, going out to eat and all other things people do. Screw the truckers but then people complain groceries and everything is going up in price. I hope gas hits $10 a gallon. FJB

USA buys very little oil/gas from Russia. Less than 3% annually. There’s a couple of issues. Remember it’s a world market and US is major exporter and number 1 producer.
Secondly we have plenty of oil coming out of the ground, the problem is refining capacity. Some refineries were shuddered during pandemic and very expensive to start back up. No new refineries are scheduled to be built because they are expensive and market for the future is uncertain.
Also keep in mind oil companies profits are currently at record levels so not much incentives to do anything.

????  There is two million less barrels a day less coming out of the ground, hence we are no longer energy independent.  When you cancel a pipeline angering Canada and announce a war on the energy market, the market responds.

Incentives have nothing to do with it, oil companies cant do anything because their hands are tied as a result of the EO's.

There will probably never be another refinery built in this country because of regulations and red tape, we all know who is responsible.
