If true ( wouldn't surprise me) can you imagine the 'fun' hackers can have !! They drive buy a field full of JDs harvesting and shutting them down.
Reminds me of the early Teslas that were easily hacked....
Maybe it's a good thing I don't 'hack' anymore....

I had heard a couple of weeks ago (don't know if it's true or not) that some government agency wanted Elon Musk to shut down all of the Teslas in Russia. This just proves the newer vehicles can be remotely shut down at someone else's will. Scary stuff to me!

Yep the computers in vehicles can not only send and receive info as well as record it for posterity , they can be remotely controlled to disable vehicles .
So with new vehicles - high speed chases can now be avoided by just disabling the vehicle from a remote source .
Isn't the great new ability to have someone able to control your movement or use of something you own or steal .
Back when I was driving truck the outfit had a driver involved in a deadly crash - by using the computer log in the truck it was shown when the driver applied the brakes , his speed over a measured time , amount of brake pressure he used , and even his steering reaction before the actual accident . Proved the other drivers involved caused the fatality by their actions and not the company driver .

OnStar for GM, EVTS for Chrysler, Sync for Ford and nearly all other 'Assist able' PCM systems in Cars, Trucks and even as seen AG or Construction machines with electronics that have Uplink Capabilities.  ELDs in trucks '07 and Newer, there are a few other GPS integrated systems that allow Outside access to a machines functions.
