Looking for anyone that is knowledgeable about track pin removal. Need to remove/shorten a H3 track. Any information or expertise advise appreciated.
Would purchase or rent any type of pin press available.
Thanks

If you are shortening a track, then the UC is already fubar, and now you are gonna tear up the sprockets, too!  JMHO.  Someone should be along to talk about the tool...Wink

YEP... chain is stretched so it does not fit the sprocket... Removing a link does not fix the problem... might make it worse with a snug chain.

Like them all, but love the "B"s.

Master pin can be driven out with a BFH by using a pin held against the master link .
Next problem is if you need to remove one link of which end do you remove - as you will need to remove another link .
That link removal will change the overall dimension of the track and the on-center measurement between links - WHICH MEANS - the SPROCKET PITCH to BUSHING On-center will be off and lead to wear on both sprocket and track .
Check the track to see if it has been turned in past - if not then have it pressed and turned at a track shop - to bring it back to close to acceptable specifications .
OR CUT OUT 1 Link and ruin the ability to turn it later along with putting stress or rear case and bearings and damaging them beyond salvage later
