After 18 months I finally got the W Speed Patrol to a point where I could start it.  Using an auxiliary 1 gallon fuel tank I added gas to the last system needing liquid. It immediately found the low point, the shop floor. After pulling the carb 4 times switching out various components I started looking a little closer at the float.
This machine sat for quite some time and I believe the fuel separated and the water froze in the bowl deforming the float. I twisted one float back in-line so it wouldn’t hit the bowl walls. I did get it started but one pint lasted about 1-2 minutes. The top of the float is about 3/16” below the gasket. I’ve read and viewed a few videos and they recommend 5/8”.
Any recommendations are more than welcome.

Thanks

You are working with a compromised float. If it works as it now is, leave it alone.
